So much more than just plants and animals; the Youth Agricultural Division allows the exhibitors to showcase and apply what they've learned in school and beyond. Horticulture exhibitors are given the opportunity to create their dream landscape, Poultry and Rabbit exhibitors can showcase their breeds qualities and strengths in our showmanship class. Market Steer, Swine and Lamb exhibitors show their best work on how to properly groom an animal in our fitting and grooming competition. Each exhibitor is then given the opportunity to share their knowledge. Fairgoers are given the chance to ask the questions they've always wanted to ask, such as maintenance, or how the animal is groomed to how much that 1,200 pound steer may eat in any given day! Join us in our Showcase of Youth Achievement.
The Fair™ would like to thank all the wonderful volunteers that make The Fair possible! When we reached out for support, we were overwhelmed by the amount of people who rallied behind this cause. To show our thanks, we have dedicated this page to you!
Showcasing Youth Achievement is what each teacher and student will see when they visit The Youth Fair on a field trip. There are 5 Field trip days each year and are allocated by Regions and Grades. Organized School Field Trips began with the purpose of providing an opportunity to the students of Miami-Dade County to come to The Youth Fair. Many students would not have the ability to visit The Youth Fair if it were not for the free admission during Field Trip Days.
To help schools defray the cost associated with educational fieldtrips, Target is offering 3,600 field trip grants of $700 each to K-12 schools nationwide. Applications are available online and are being accepted through noon Sept. 30 at https://corporate.target.com/corporate-responsibility/grants/field-trip-grants.
